My kids get dollar store gift bags and love it….I think???

holiday wrap 1

I am often asked if I “go crazy” and wrap the gifts that I give my kids like the gifts that are wrapped for my clients.  I would love to tell you that I am another Martha Stewart or B. Smith and that every present they receive is beautifully wrapped, but I have to be honest, in my house the gift wrappers children don’t always get the most beautifully wrapped gifts.

I have hundreds of spools of ribbon, more wrapping paper than some stores carry but when it comes to my own kids I must admit that I seem to end up in the local dollar store.   The inexpensive assortment of gift bags is always the right price.

The local department style toy store and my favourite dollar store (yes I have a favourite)  are located side by side.  Like many parents…it is way too convenient to just walk right next door and plop the gift in a sturdy dollar store bag.

Last year one of my kids asked me to “Pleeease” wrap his gifts for this year in the traditional “Wreath Queen” style…lots of ribbon with everything matching…just like in the magazines.  I never really thought they cared!

I have found a way out and I am proud to say that I do not feel guilty: 1 small gift from Santa and 1 gift that cannot be wrapped from mom and dad…a trip to see Mickey just in time for Christmas.  I did it!

No late nights wrapping for kids this year!
