Lately I have been getting a lot of requests and questions about floral design, gifting, photography, how to’s, classes, lessons, books and even requests for people to come to Canada from the US for classes from me.   I am honored and have answered each person individually as who to contact in their areas.  There are numerous wonderful schools and masters in the art of floral design and gifting and I am neither...just a person who loves what I do.

But it got me to thinking …where did this creative urge come from? I stopped at about 3.24 AM this morning and answered the question.

Mom and Dad!! Its in the blood.   My mom was the master sewer, master chef (in my view) cooked everything from scratch and could make something wonderful from nothing.  She is a true artist.  My dad can make a kite from bamboo and it will fly for hours, take a couple pieces of metal and have a moving toy car.  He is a true artist.

(In actual fact dad is a Professional Engineer who graduated from the University of Toronto and mom is an Optician who graduated from Ryerson…but that is another story).

Now I understand why I failed miserably in physics and chemistry in high school; I kept fighting the obvious which was and is that I am an artist at heart.  There,  I said it!   And I feel great about it!  I am an artist at heart and I and proud to say I never failed art class!   Okay, maybe you didn’t fail art class either but lets give a girl some credit!

And then there are my siblings.  Yetunde (the baby), not yet 30 owns Princess and little Pea. She is a wonderful designer, and can talk materials, fabric and texture with you for days.

There is Atinuke (we call her Auntie Turtle)  She and her best friend own, “Its Sweet 2 B Square”.  (Delivering sweet confections to your door…coming soon)  Atinuke can compete against some of the best chefs around the world and win (in my opinion, a true foodie).  She travels everywhere around the world and sends me pictures of food and then returns home to cook it for us.

My brother Ayo who speaks fluent Japanese is an modern artist; soon to have a showing at a gallery near you.  Currently can be found scaling a wall or rock (seriously!) near you.  Click here to see Ayo rock climbing (bouldering)  a section of the Niagara Falls. Lessons anyone?

I guess its all in the family.  We are a family of entrepreneurs;  all doing different things; all doing what we love.   How did you find the thing that you love to do the most? Add a comment as I would really like to know.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful day,

Kristeen

Wow Kristeen – as much as I know about you, I did not know the brilliance of your entire family! I hope to have the privilege of meeting them all one day!

To answer your question, the thing I love to do most is to see each person’s potential and hold them to it! It gives me more joy than I can express to see someone LIKE YOU, take a hold of life and live every moment of it to its fullest – creating, tapping into your passion, loving every minute :)

Conversely, nothing makes me more CRAZY than people who have SO much potential and they just sit on their BUTTS! UGH!

As a coach, I have the honour of being on a personal journey with my clients, as their partner, and growing with them every step of the way. Thank you for blossoming the way you have – you inspire me and have taught me much about excellence, creativity and overcoming fears along the way. Congratulations on the life and business you have created….looking forward to seeing more of YOU!

    Much love, Grace

Grace, when I realized that it you had left a comment I was thrilled! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and answering the question. Those words “see each persons potential and hold them to it” , well you sure did that with me. So many things in my business practices and life have changed because you have shown me what it means to bring “me” to the table. Its all very exciting.

Truly, you are a wonderful coach. Congratulations on the e-Spot and Thank You!
